Brookstone Sends E-Catalog

Brookstone Inc. created an electronic version of its 68-page holiday catalog that is being e-mailed to prospects.

The e-catalog does not require plug-ins and looks exactly like the printed version. Products have links to individual product detail and purchase pages on their own Web site.

"The first batch went out on Nov. 28, and the next batch will go out within a week," said Sal Miwa, chief operating officer of RealRead, New York, an online document browsing service provider that worked with Brookstone to develop the e-catalog. "Close to 1 million e-mails are going out in the two batches combined."

Brookstone operates 236 stores nationwide and a direct marketing business that includes a Web site and three catalogs: The Brookstone Gift Collection, Hard-to-Find Tools and Gardeners Eden.
