Brookstone Sales Dip 6.2 Percent for Quarter

Brookstone Inc., Nashua, NH, announced yesterday that during the 13-week fourth quarter of fiscal 2001, which ended Feb. 2, net sales fell 6.2 percent to $169.8 million compared with $180.9 million during the 14-week fourth quarter of the previous year.


Total company sales fell 3.2 percent to $352.9 million during the 52-week period ended Feb. 2 compared with $364.5 million during the previous 53-week period.


"During the year we introduced over 240 new products," Michael Anthony, chairman, president and CEO, said in a statement. "These new products contributed to the improved sales at the end of the fourth quarter."
