British Company Offers Money-Back Guarantee

LONDON--Firstbase, a British list company, is offering a money-back guarantee to new customers if returns for incorrect names and addresses in a single mailing top 1 percent.


"From now on," said a company statement released at the British DM show, held at the Wembley exhibition and conference complex, "customers placing an order with the company for the first time will be guaranteed a full refund on the one-off list rental charge, if data supplied by Firstbase and used within 60 days of supply, is no at least 99 percent accurate.


"Thereafter, in all subsequent orders, the already strong Firstbase guarantee will come into effect, giving customers a `2-for-1' replacement on any returns notified to the company within 90 days of a mailing."
