BPA Releases Loyalty Program Criteria

BPA International released guidelines Friday for loyalty program marketers that allow participants to redeem points for subscriptions. The guidelines define the criteria for loyalty program rewards to count as qualified paid circulation.


The new criteria for qualified point programs include the following: participants must elect to participate; points must be awarded from transactions; points must be accruable; points awarded at enrollment must offer non-magazine products/services; magazines must not represent more than 75 percent of the program; points must be assigned monetary value; non-magazine products must be equal to the lowest-value magazine and documentation of redemption must be made.
