Bowflex Makes Easy Work of Net

Direct Focus Inc., Vancouver, WA, the makers and marketers of Bowflex home fitness equipment and Nautilus Sleep Systems said earlier this month its e-commerce sales for the first quarter of 2000 were up 28 percent.

Reported sales for the first quarter of 1999 were $3.9 million, which jumped to $5 million this year.

According to Brian Cook, president/CEO of Direct Focus, "Internet marketing and sales is a natural extension of our successful direct business model, which also leverages strong brand names, television advertising, an extensive business intelligence database and integrated customer relationship management systems."

The company sells its most popular DRTV products through sites such as Bowflex.com and NautilusSleep.com.

Full disclosure of first quarter results will be released tomorrow.
