Boppers Holdings Becomes E-Smart Technologies
Boppers Holdings Inc., Las Vegas, yesterday said that it has taken on the name of its recently acquired subsidiary, e-Smart Technologies Inc.Effective today, Boppers Holdings' trading symbol will change from BOPP to ESMT. The new company also will assume e-Smart's headquarters in New York.
Boppers Holdings, which bought e-Smart late last summer, said the name change is in lieu of its new focus on the "smart card" technology industry.
A smart card carries information on a magnetic strip, and like a traditional credit card, uses an integrated circuit chip as its main memory. E-Smart designs and maintains systems that incorporate the use of smart cards.
Because of the acquisition, according to the company, it now holds an exclusive technology license covering the territory of China to manufacture and to supply smart cards.
