Boats.com Partners With 20 Manufacturers
Boats.com recently said that 20 marine manufacturers have partnered with the site in the past month.The manufacturers include Essex Performance Boats, Outboard Marine Corp. and Tartan Yachts. Financial terms of the agreements were not disclosed.
Boats.com, San Francisco, provides an e-commerce destination for boat traders, whether dealers, manufacturers or consumers. The site charges used and new boat sellers flat listing rates that are negotiated individually.
The site also offers editorials as well as loans and insurance policies. Boats.com has struck sales percentage deals with loan and insurance providers.
Viewers can fill out a questionnaire that searches for the best loans for sailing, power or fishing boats.
"Some lenders, for instance, offer loans that are great for sailboats but not power boats," said Ken Grimes, spokesman for the firm. "We offer a solution where (viewers) can find the best deal for each individual boat."
