BlueLithium Hires New President/COO

Scott L. Kauffman Sept. 5 was named president and chief operating officer of ad network BlueLithium.

He joins BlueLithium, San Jose, CA, from Zinio , San Francisco. He has led the digital magazine publishing firm since 2004.

The decision to add a company president is a response to the company's rapid growth, BlueLithium CEO and founder Gurbaksh Chahal said. 

Mr. Kauffman held past leadership positions at CompuServe, Time Warner and Newsweek. At Time Warner, Mr. Kauffman was on the founding team of Entertainment Weekly magazine and also was vice president of business development for Time Warner Interactive.

His role at BlueLithium will reunite him with former AdKnowledge colleague Dave Zinman who is currently senior vice president of products for BlueLithium. Mr. Kauffman became president and CEO of third-party ad serving company AdKnowledge, founded by Mr. Zinman, in 1997.

His corporate leadership experience in varied, Mr. Kauffman has also run direct-to-consumer insurance provider eCoverage, online music service MusicNow, and web analytics company Coremetrics. He remains a member of the Board of Directors for Coremetrics.
