Blockbuster Online Breaks Interactive Campaign

Blockbuster this week launches an interactive marketing campaign, one week after introducing its online DVD rental service to rival similar offerings from Netflix and Walmart.com.

The campaign, from Avenue A/Razorfish, will include ads for Blockbuster Online on sites such as iVillage, Excite, American Greetings Network and AtomShockwave.

The ad agency already has broken sponsored search engine campaigns.

Dallas-based Blockbuster Online offers DVD rentals for a $19.99 monthly fee. Customers can rent an unlimited number of DVDs with no extended-viewing fees, up to three out at a time. They also get two free in-store movie rental coupons each month.
