Blechman Named CADM President
Michelle Blechman, a senior advertising manager at Abbott Laboratories, will become president of the Chicago Association of Direct Marketing at the organization's 49th annual meeting set for Aug. 11.She will succeed Kelly Abeles, communications director of the American Bar Endowment. The inauguration takes place 11:30 a.m. at the 410 Club on Chicago's North Michigan Avenue.
Blechman will preside over the association's golden anniversary, which is themed "Celebrating the Journey: 50 Years of Marketing." Along with her speech, a panel discussion is scheduled. Participants include previous winners of CADM's Charles S. Downs Direct Marketer of the Year award.
Abeles will present the Natalie P. Holmes Volunteer of the Year award to direct marketing consultant Frank Roman. Also, Michael Becker, Chicago-area sales manager for Mackay Envelope Co., will join the CADM board of directors.
