Blattner Brunner Buys MHI Communications

Blattner Brunner, Pittsburgh, bought MHI Communications, a Washington direct marketing agency, for an undisclosed sum.


A division of Multimedia Holdings Inc., MHI clients include Microsoft Corp., Johns Hopkins University, Export-Import Bank of the United States and Time Warner Inc.


The acquisition is to boost Blattner Brunner's DM and design offerings, particularly to bbdigital.


MHI will take on the Blattner Brunner name, operating as the Washington outpost. Lynne Mento, vice president of strategic planning at MHI, becomes general manager of the office. She will oversee 16 employees.


Blattner Brunner reports billings of $100 million from clients like Zippo Mfg., GlaxoSmithKline, 84 Lumber, PPG Industries and H.J. Heinz Co.
