Blair Corp To Invest $23 Million in Fulfillment Expansion
The Blair Corp., Warren, PA, will invest $23 million to modernize and enhance the company's fulfillment capabilities and capacity at facilities in Irvine, PA.The expenditure will also provide for added warehouse capacity, the installation of a new computer-based warehouse management system, new conveyor systems and new automated sorting equipment for order fulfillment and shipping.
Completion of the fulfillment project is expected in July 2002.
Also, the company's mailing operations will be outsourced to an Atlanta-based firm in March. The returns operations will continue as a Blair-managed department, but will be moved to a new facility outside of Warren during the third quarter.
