Bigfoot Interactive to Reduce Work Force by 30 Percent

Direct e-mail services company Bigfoot Interactive, New York, said yesterday that it will restructure the company to focus on its core business assets -- integrated e-mail marketing -- and will reduce its work force by 30 percent, or about 37 employees.

The company said it will restructure non-core business units and that the reduction would not affect client service or client marketing program development units.

"Our decision to focus on our core business of integrated e-mail marketing programs, a business in which the company continues to be extremely successful, is sound for the company in the short and long term," Jim Hoffman, Bigfoot Interactive's co-founder/CEO, said in a statement.

Hoffman noted that companies in "fast-growth industries" such as interactive marketing are forced to "create a balance" between achieving profitability quickly and continued aggressive growth.
