BellSouth Adds Options to Call Blocker

BellSouth has upgraded its call-blocking service, Privacy Director, to give consumers the option of allowing friends to bypass the service.

With Privacy Director, consumers may give friends a pass code to dial if their calls are blocked by the service. Consumer calls, as well as telemarketing calls, often appear as "unidentified" to caller-ID devices because of conflicts between telephone lines and equipment.

BellSouth also lets consumers turn the service on and off. The call-blocking service is available in all 35 markets that BellSouth serves.
