Beef Serves Site for Smaller Operators

Prism Business Media Inc. launched a Web site for Beef magazine that caters to the interests of smaller operators with fewer than 100 cattle.

The site at www.americancowman.com targets 700,000 part-time cattlemen, accounting for 85 percent of the country's producers. Articles pertain to animal health, facilities, pasture, nutrition, genetics and range management. A twice-monthly online newsletter will offer industry news, production and management tips and producer profiles to help small family farms.

The site results from research done in collaboration with Pfizer Animal Health. That marketer is the exclusive sponsor of the health category on AmericanCowman.com.

Beef is the nation's leading cattle monthly for cow and calf owners, cattle feeders, nutritionists and veterinarians. Its flagship site is www.beef-mag.com. New York-based Prism's print and online agricultural publications include Hay & Forage Grower, Farm Industry News, Farm Press, National Hog Farmer, Apply and The Corn and Soybean Digest.
