BeautyJungle.com Closes Down

BeautyJungle.com, an online cosmetics retailer, closed its virtual doors yesterday -- one year after opening -- citing inadequate capital to make a profit.

The company let go of most of its 30 employees in Chicago, New York and Indianapolis. It will keep a small staff for the liquidation of its assets.

In addition to BeautyJungle, the company also launched the business-to-business e-marketplace Beautywall.com in September.

The company posted a notice on its website today saying that all orders placed on the Beautyjungle.com and Beautywall.com sites by Nov.10 will be processed and shipped. Customers will be notified if their orders were not shipped and no credit charges will be incurred.

BeautyJungle.com was among the associated companies of Internet holding company Divine interVentures Inc.
