Beautiful Music

Recent news that Myspace was delving into the music downloading business to compete with iTunes and other similar sites caught my eye, and is a long time coming in my opinion.

Myspace is known at this point as more of a place for musicians to network and promote their music, whereas Facebook seems to have the market share of the teen/20-something social networking crowd. Myspace music always gave artists the option of allowing other users to download their music, and to link to purchase their music from iTunes, Cdbaby, Mp3.com etc., so it only seems natural they would finally open their very own store.

Kudos to Myspace, for giving independent musicans the chance to promote, and now sell, their music, with no cost at all to sign up.
