BBDO West Wins Pink Dot Account

Online consumer grocery and prepared food delivery service Pink Dot Inc., Camarillo, CA, this week announced it selected BBDO West, Los Angeles and San Francisco, as its advertising agency of record.


BBDO West was appointed following a competitive review involving six agencies for an estimated $10 million account.


Pink Dot, which has made a name for itself predominantly in Southern California, needs the attention of strong branding influence to build on its position as a leading direct-to-consumer grocer.


As Pink Dot's agency, BBDO West will handle all aspects of the company's multimillion dollar advertising and marketing campaign, including brand building, media planning and buying, direct marketing and long-term strategic planning.


Karen Sophiea, chief marketing officer at Pink Dot said, "After reviewing creative from several qualified firms, it was clearly evident that BBDO West has the skill set and top-tier staff to assist Pink Dot in building a nationally recognized brand."


BBDO West will use its expertise and knowledge of consumer marketing to increase awareness of the direct-to-consumer grocery services that Pink Dot offers in Southern California. She said the agency will also use resources from both BBDO West's San Francisco and Los Angeles offices to manage the Pink Dot account.


"This is a significant new business assignment from an important player in the home delivery category, who is poised to dominate the market," said Tom Hollerbach, president, BBDO West. "It also represents a great opportunity to showcase our creative capabilities in a highly visible category."


Founded in 1987, privately held Pink Dot is being positioned as an "online instant delivery shopping experience." The company serves an estimated 100,000 customers.
