BBB Wise Giving Alliance Announces Standards, Seal
The BBB Wise Giving Alliance is expected to release today its revised Standards for Charitable Accountability and a national charity seal program.The standards address accountability concerns such as use of funds, fundraising practices, donor privacy and spending funds in accordance with donor intentions.
The standards were developed with input from charitable organizations as well as accounting professionals, grant-making foundations, corporate foundation officers, regulatory agencies, research organizations and the Better Business Bureau system.
The seal program will allow organizations in compliance with the standards to display a mark signifying that.
The alliance is affiliated with the Council of Better Business Bureaus.
