Bazaarvoice adds review functionality to social networks

User generated reviews firm Bazaarvoice has a new platform called ShareThis that lets consumers publish product reviews on leading social networking sites Facebook, Digg and del.icio.us.

Now, consumers can share opinions about products in the context of a social network of friends, in addition to pre-existing platforms on retail sites such as Petco.com or Amazon.com.

ShareThis is a widget that integrates seamlessly onto a retailer's product page within the review summary, as well as with each specific review. Consumers can click on a ShareThis icon to publish a review to Facebook, Digg or del.icio.us.

The published review includes the retailer's logo and the review itself, as well as a direct link back to the retailer's Web site.
