Barnes & Noble, WizeUp to Offer Students E-Textbooks

Barnes & Noble College Bookstores Inc. and WizeUp Digital Textbooks will expand their relationship and marketing initiatives in an effort to speed the growth of electronic textbook usage in college education, the companies said yesterday.

Barnes & Noble College Bookstores will offer WizeUp Digital Textbooks in many of its 400 college bookstores.

In-store displays featuring co-branded signs, Internet marketing and integrated e-commerce offerings will accompany the push.

"Digital textbooks and other digital content that utilizes the Internet and the power of technology will be critical in supporting new educational models for e-learning," said David Gray, CEO of WizeUp Digital Textbooks, New York.

WizeUp produces digital editions of traditional textbooks. Its partners include Pearson Education, Thomson Learning, Harcourt College Publishers and McGraw-Hill.
