Bargain Shoppers Now Can Find a Home on AOL

America Online Inc., Dulles, VA, is planning to announce a pact with the online unit of liquidator Gordon Brother Retail Partners LLC, Boston, to create a bargain-basement category as part of AOL's shopping property, according to a Reuters report.

The deal with the online unit, smartbargains.com, will power an area of AOL's shopping property, Shop+AOL, dedicated to bargain hunters.

The category aims to attract one-third of online shoppers who are hungry for deals. It also will allow visitors to haggle and negotiate prices.

Other changes are expected soon at Shop+AOL, AOL said.
