Bare Escentuals Scents Its Updated Site With the Demandware Platform

Natural cosmetics retailer Bare Escentuals tapped e-commerce platform Demandware and development partner Fluid Inc. to re-launch as an e-commerce site next week.

The new site at will launch next week in addition to the existing site at It includes improvements for merchandising, online ordering and checkout and the ability to upsell items through an improved information display and additional content and graphics.

San Francisco-based Bare Escentuals, beauty range includes a cosmetics line, i.d. bareMinerals, as well as more than 1,000 other products including skin preps, lotions, application brushes and essential oils.

These products are sold in company-owned Bare Escentuals retail boutiques, on QVC and TV infomercials, mail order, select specialty retailers like Sephora, Ulta and Nordstrom, as well as in spas.

Additionally, plans are also in the works to re-launch the site on the Demandware platform in 2007.

Demandware, Woburn, MA, will be speaking about the new Bare Escentuals site at next week and handing out free samples.
