Banta Announces Upbeat Sales Figures for 2000

Banta Corp. this week reported positive financial results for its fourth quarter and the full year 2000.


The print production firm's sales for 2000 increased 16 percent from the prior year. Sales reached $1.49 billion compared with the previous year's $1.28 billion. Also, sales during the final quarter jumped 20 percent compared with the year-ago quarter.


Banta, Menasha, WI, had operational earnings for the year of $115 million, an 11 percent increase over 1999's $103 million. Also, net earnings for 2000 totaled $58.7 million compared with the previous year's $54.5 million.


The company's stock, which was about $20 per share in January 1999, has also improved. Banta's stock hovered just above $25 per share this week.
