Bank of America, AOL Time Warner in Ad Deal

Bank of America and AOL Time Warner announced a multi-platform advertising deal yesterday that will allow each company to promote its services on the other's properties.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Bank of America will advertise across AOL Time Warner's media properties, including AOL Time Warner's Time Inc. magazines and Turner television properties. In exchange, AOL Time Warner will promote its services and media properties on Bank of America's channels, including on its Web-enabled ATMs and in its customer banking statements. The alliance also includes a number of sponsorship opportunities for Bank of America.

"This agreement marks the first time another company has launched advertising of this scale on Bank of America channels," Barbara Desoer, Bank of America's principal marketing executive, said in a statement.

To promote its "ingenuity" campaign, Bank of America will be the exclusive sponsor of the "ingenious shot of the day" feature on AOL Time Warner's CNN Sports Tonight television program. The bank also will sponsor the "stroke of ingenuity" featured during PGA golf events and the Wimbledon tennis tournament.
