Bandwear Chooses Michael & Partners As Agency-Of-Record

Michael & Partners, Dallas, an advertising and marketing communications firm specializing in entertainment network communications, has been named agency-of-record for Bandwear.com, Dallas, an online merchandise superstore that offers a comprehensive selection of music and entertainment-oriented merchandise. Billings were not disclosed.


Bandwear.com targets teen-agers and young adults with branded T-shirts, jewelry, hats, stickers and memorabilia from hundreds of recording artists, bands and entertainment celebrities.


Michael & Partners will provide direct marketing expertise and counsel to Bandwear.com as part of the online retailer's new effort to position its niche-market apparel and merchandise in front of more consumers. The company also hopes to raise awareness of its Web site among customers as a leading destination for the latest news and gossip in the music industry. Its product line is focused on music industry stars from virtually every recording industry genre, including alternative, rock, pop and Top 40, rap, R&B/urban, country, heavy metal, reggae and classic rock


Bandwear.com was founded in 1998 by a group of Dallas music business entrepreneurs, musicians and managers. Related operations for the company include Bandwear Productions, which designs, purchases and prints merchandise for bands, record labels and radio stations; and Bandwear Onestop, a complete distributor that inventories and fulfills wholesale music merchandise orders from retailers.


Michael & Partners is headed up by George Michael, formerly president of MBRK, an agency that grew to be among the Top 10 agencies in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
