Away.com Sweeps Allots $100,000, Collects E-Mails

Travel Web site Away.com, Washington, unveiled a sweepstakes this week that will give away vacation trips and outdoor gear to increase the membership of its site, which generally consists of an affluent, educated audience that shops online.

To join the contest, viewers must become Away.com members by clicking a banner ad and then supplying their full names and e-mail addresses. The grand prize of five free trips for two to more than 4,500 possible international destinations will be announced in late April.

Three other sweepstakes winners will receive one free trip for two with the same destination options. In addition, visitors to the site can enter to win daily giveaways of outdoor apparel, including wristwatches and fleece pullovers. Away.com will award more than $100,000 in prizes.
