Auction Web site www.egghead.com this week reported that its sales had increased 20 percent during the last 18 months because of an e-mail marketing program that was implemented after an agreement with Digital Impact in 1998.

Egghead.com, Menlo Park, CA, also credited the program for a number of other growth statistics - including a monthly shopper average of $810 for the past year and a $217 median for shoppers in December.
