AT&T, British Telecommunications to Expand Data Centers

AT&T, Armonk, NY; British Telecommunications, London; and their international venture, Concert, said yesterday they will increase their Internet data centers with a $2 billion investment over the next three years.


The telecommunications firms, which currently operate 14 global Internet data centers, plan to add another 11 centers in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, France and Japan this year.


By 2003, the companies expect to have a network of 44 centers in 16 countries.
