Ask Jeeves Turns to Publishing in Branding Campaign

Ask Jeeves Inc., Emeryville, CA, yesterday launched a series of self-published books featuring questions and answers that have appeared on its Ask.com Web site.

The books are part of a national branding campaign that also includes participation in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and a fruit label marketing program.

The first release "Jeeves, I'm Bored: 25 Internet Adventures for Kids" is an activity book for children designed to encourage learning and exploration. Fifty percent of the proceeds raised from the book, which will retail for $6.95, will be donated to the National Center for Family Literacy, a nonprofit organization supporting family literacy services across the United States.

In June, Ask Jeeves will release "Just Curious, Jeeves," a humor book, for $16.95. "Jeeves, I Need Help," a Web research guide for children that will retail for $6.95, will be released in August.
