Ashford.com Looks to Clear Old Inventory at eBay

Ashford.com has put up hundreds of its out-of-season and discontinued jewelry/accessories products for sale at eBay.com as a result of a deal between the two firms.

EBay is featuring an Ashford Outlet channel, which offers bidders at the online auction the chance to purchase items like watches, handbags and sunglasses. Ashford hopes to use the channel like a discount outlet store as the firm works toward achieving profitability by the end of the year.

"The eBay (channel) allows us to tailor our offering to the most profitable items," said Kim Richards, vice president of marketing at the Houston-based retailer. "We believe eBay will do everything they can to promote our products."
