Ariba, VeriSign to Provide AmEx Services Through Online Marketplaces

E-commerce provider Ariba Inc. plans to develop a credit card payment service for online business-to-business transactions with VeriSign Inc. and American Express.


Ariba, Mountain View, CA, yesterday said the service will enable buyers and suppliers to process American Express transactions through online marketplaces.


Under the agreement, Ariba will integrate VeriSign's BTB connectivity services into its Commerce Services Network, and VeriSign will begin using a new programming language, cXML, for credit card encryption.
