Pita chain uses mobile coupons to draw workers

Extreme Brandz has tapped Cell­fire Inc. to move into the mobile coupon market for its Extreme Pita brand chain of fast food stores and offer consumers discounts at 27 stores across the country. The company chose Cellfire after deciding that it wanted to be in the mo­bile space, but didn't want to have to deal with collecting mobile phone numbers from its customers.

The company has teamed up with Bulldog Mobile Billboards for the new advertising campaign, which combines guerrilla marketing with experiential marketing techniques to help promote both the line of pet toys to consumers while seeking b-to-b contacts in veterinarian offices and pet stores to distribute product.

The heavily rumored Google phone saw the light of day last week at the Mobile World Conference in Barcelona, Spain, in the form of the new Android platform. Android is a software platform for mobile devices created by Google that includes an operating system, middleware and key applications.

Chicago-based art museum calls out to lovers

The Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago is working with mobile services firm Cellit Mobile Marketing to call patrons into special events in the museum. In a move to increase visitors to its First Friday event on February 1, the busiest First Friday of the year, the museum cre­ated a special interactive event around the mobile phone and the art gallery space, called the Digital Post Office of Love, which drew 2,500 people.
