AOL Signs Promotion Pact With NBA, WNBA

America Online yesterday signed a multi-year promotional agreement with the National Basketball Association and the Women's National Basketball Association.

Several AOL properties will promote the NBA.com and WNBA.com Web sites in return for on-air promotion during NBA and WNBA games on the TNT and TBS cable television networks as well as nongame programming.

The NBA granted permission for use of its logos and player names in connection with AOL-developed fantasy games.

AOL also agreed to license its tools, such as Instant Messenger, Search and Digital City, to the NBA and WNBA sites.
