AOL Names New AOLTV President

AOL Time Warner has named Robert Friedman president of AOLTV, the company's interactive television service.

Friedman previously served as co-chairman of worldwide theatrical marketing at New Line Cinema and president of New Line Television.

Previously, Barry Schuler, president of AOL Interactive, had overseen AOLTV. Friedman will report directly to Schuler in his new position.

AOLTV, which began last year, offers interactivity by allowing consumers to take advantage of AOL features such as e-mail, instant messaging and chat while watching television.

Shares of AOL Time Warner closed at $43.50 in New York Stock Exchange trading on Wednesday.
