AmEx, Hilton Launch Travel Credit Card

American Express, New York, and Hilton Hotels Corp. earlier this week launched a travel rewards credit card labeled the Hilton HHonors Platinum Credit Card.

Consumers may earn three Hilton HHonors bonus points toward a variety of travel rewards for every dollar spent on the credit card. Also, customers may earn five points for every dollar spent on the card at roughly 2,000 Hilton-affiliated hotels nationwide.

Cardholders are given 7,500 bonus points with the first purchase made on the new card.

Earlier this month American Express dropped an undisclosed number of direct mail pieces to current Hilton HHonors Classic Credit Card users to promote the new offering. The company did not disclose the time frame for the direct mail campaign.

Consumers may buy the card through a toll-free number or via the American Express Web site at www.americanexpress.com.
