AmEx Buys Into Online Reservation Company

American Express announced Friday it made a minority investment in OpenTable.com, San Francisco, a provider of online restaurant reservations and customer management software for restaurants. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.


OpenTable.com allows diners to make reservations 24-hours a day. Users can search by cuisine, restaurant name and table availability. The system makes real-time reservations and provides restaurants with table and reservation management capabilities through a proprietary system
