AmeriMark in deal for Dr. Leonard's

Cataloger AmericMark Direct LLC, which is owned by private equity firm JH Partners, has agreed to buy Dr. Leonard's Healthcare Corp., according to reports.

Telephone calls to the involved parties were not immediately returned.

Dr. Leonard's is a leading direct marketer of home healthcare products for seniors that operates a catalog and Web site, www.drleonards.com. The Edison, NJ-based business also includes the Carol Wright Gifts catalog.

AmeriMark and JH Partners' deal to acquire Dr. Leonard's from Cortec Group, Baird Capital Partners and Golub Capital reportedly includes $315 million in debt.

Thirty-seven-year-old AmeriMark operates seven catalog titles: Anthony Richards, Beauty Boutique, Complements by Anthony Richards, Essentials by Anthony Richards, Healthy Living, Time for Me and Windsor Collection.

JH Partners' other retail brands include Chef's Catalog, Bare Escentuals and Design within Reach.
