American Student List, Stumacher Settle Disputes

American Student List Co. Inc., Mineola, NY, and a former longtime employee, Jan Stumacher, this week settled a lawsuit in which ASL had accused Stumacher of illegally marketing names from ASL's database. The two parties also have settled their arbitration over the termination of Stumacher as executive vice president in 1997. The terms of the settlements were not disclosed.


Both ASL and Stumacher, though his companies, Rhinna International Corp. and Student Marketing Group Inc., Lynbrook, NY, market lists of high school students. ASL had filed suit earlier against Stumacher and his companies in April after claiming to discover certain "decoy" names from ASL's database on Stumacher's lists. Stumacher, meanwhile, had contended that his termination two years ago violated his employment contract with the company.
