America Online Partners with Columbia House

America Online, Dulles, VA, and Columbia House, New York, announced a marketing agreement for online and offline advertising and promotions that will include product bundling, direct mail initiatives and co-marketing and advertising campaigns. Through the agreement, Columbia House, which has more than 13 million members, will promote its music, video and DVD clubs in AOL's Shopping Channel on AOL.COM, CompuServe, Digital City and Entertainment Asylum.


Columbia House will offer its members options to request AOL software and it will distribute AOL software in its product fulfillment mailings. It guaranteed AOL a minimum number of new memberships as a result. AOL members clicking on Columbia House icons will be directed to customized co-branded home pages designed for the AOL audience containing offers created specifically for them.
