Amazon.com, AOL Extend Marketing Alliance

Amazon.com Inc. and America Online said yesterday that they have extended their marketing alliance in a deal that makes AOL the largest online marketing partner for Amazon.

The companies said in a statement that the successful performance of their marketing alliance beginning in 1997 led them to extend the pact, under which Amazon's products -- such as books, toys and electronics -- will be available across AOL brands, including AOL.com and Netscape Netcenter.

The pact also will make Amazon's products available over AOL's other Internet service, Compuserve.
