*Amazon Picks Microsoft Reader Software for Future E-Book Store

Microsoft Corp. said yesterday that leading online retailer Amazon.com has selected Microsoft Reader as the preferred format for Amazon's future e-book store.


The alliance will allow Microsoft to create a customized Amazon version of the Microsoft Reader, giving consumers the ability to purchase and download e-book titles directly from Amazon.com and read them in Microsoft Reader format.
