Database marketing solutions provider Alterian said yesterday that it acquired MarkIT Information Services Ltd., a company that delivers marketing technology through application service provider services.

Terms were not disclosed.

Alterian, Chicago, said the deal expands its service portfolio to its partner network. The company will deliver a new service called Alterian Connect, which will let marketing service providers benefit from Alterian-based solutions without having to manage the administration, upgrades and maintenance of the technology at their own sites.

Alterian Connect will deliver a series of hosted services that let MSPs obtain Alterian technology over the Internet. Client implementation times will be reduced because the Alterian solution is rolled out by a team of experts from a dedicated data center, Alterian said.

Alterian Connect is expected to be attractive to MSPs that lack in-house resources to provide multiple, hosted technology implementations.
