Allwall.com Acquires Assets of Art.Com

Allwall.com, a poster and print Web retailer, has acquired the assets of defunct Art.com from imaging company Getty Images for an undisclosed amount of cash.

The announcement was made Friday, the day after Allwall bought the Art.com Web address, the lion's share of its intellectual property, its customer list and other remaining assets.

Getty said May 2 that it would sell the retail site. The Seattle-based company acquired Art.com when it was considered to be a good example of online niche marketing. However, Getty has said that it planned to exit consumer marketing and focus more on its business-to-business operations.
