Allergan Picks Harte-Hanks Trillium Software

Specialty pharmaceutical health care provider Allergan Inc. will use Harte-Hanks' Trillium Software System to integrate sales, customer and marketing data into its data warehouse, Harte Hanks announced yesterday.

Allergan, based in Irvine, CA, provides eye care and specialty pharmaceutical products worldwide. Allergan also will use Trillium as the foundation for CRM initiatives and supply chain management.

Pharmaceutical companies are under pressure to merge customer and business information from multiple sources, consolidate data for multiple brands, and integrate disparate systems and organizational views of the customer, according to Harte Hanks, Billerica, MA. Key industry drivers include consolidation, third-party data sharing with other healthcare constituents and the 1997 decision by the Food and Drug Administration that allows drug manufacturers to market their products directly to consumers.
