Alibaba.com Uses Lyris for E-Mail in China and Abroad

Chinese e-commerce platform Alibaba.com tapped e-mail marketing firm Lyris to deliver e-mail campaigns to its members.

The collaboration with Lyris, Emeryville, CA, lets Alibaba.com, Hong Kong, manage its global marketing campaigns from China, as well as measure and track the e-mail data of more than 2 million registered Alibaba.com users from more than 200 countries and territories.

More than 500,000 people visit the site at www.alibaba.com. Most are global buyers and importers looking to find and trade with sellers in China and other major manufacturing countries. Alibaba.com manages and tracks a wide range of customized e-mail marketing programs to millions of users in both Chinese and English.

Alibaba.com also owns and operates Yahoo China, which is acquired in October 2005.
