ALC Partners With Alterian

American List Counsel is expected to announce today that it signed a licensing agreement with Alterian, a provider of database marketing and customer insight solutions.

ALC, Princeton, NJ, will use Alterian technology as the platform for its service bureau division count and order systems.

Alterian, Chicago, said the technology offers flexibility in the questions that can be asked and quick delivery of answers. It can run complex ad hoc queries that span huge volumes of data. It also allows for quick and easy addition of new data.

"At the core, we need a suite of technology tools to help us create new products by mixing and matching data, and to promote and sell those products through easy access to counts," said Fran Green, ALC's president, data management. "We need to be able to sweep across multiple data properties to find similar segments and provide suggestions and solutions to marketers within seconds."

ALC expects to complete the implementation early in the second quarter of 2005.
