U.S. Plastic Lumber Sparks Fuse
Matt Bowen, president of Fuse, a full-service strategic marketing and communications firm, said his new environmentally progressive client is looking to grow its wholesale distributor and direct-to-consumer business. "This is an interesting company with an interesting product ... it's basically a whole new industry" he said.
"At first we're going to focus on the building products industry. We'll probably start with a direct mailing of 75,000 to 100,000 pieces."
Bowen, who has a background in the plastics and coatings industry, said Fuse is still designing a complete integrated marketing plan for the company that will include direct mail, database management, collateral materials and all trade show management and planning.
U.S. Plastic Lumber is a $50 million company that provides alternative building materials in the United States to suppliers and retailers as well as consumers. It manufactures its plastic lumber product from 100 percent recycled, post-consumer high-density polyethylene. One of its primary products is an outdoor home-decking system.
The company has been in business since 1994. It went public last June.
