MTS, Adforum Team on Multicultural Data

Share this content:, New York, a searchable online database of advertising and marketing communications agencies and their creative work, announced Monday a new partnership with Multicultural Target Source, New York, a custom directory of firms offering specialized services in multicultural and ethnic marketing.

Next week, the online division of MTS,, begins offering users the option to search for agencies based on multicultural criteria - such as African-American, Asian-American or Hispanic-American - together with additional data such as location, size or specific business experience.

"The multicultural population has grown from one in five Americans in 1980 to one in four in 1995," said Herve C. de Clerck, founder/president of "African-American buying power went from $298 billion in 1990 to $441 billion in 1999, up 68 percent, while Hispanic consumer spending in the U.S. is at an all-time high - about $325 billion in 1999."
