Mattis Direct Will Create Event Suites DM Plan
A recommendation from the Philadelphia Eagles, a Mattis client, helped win the account for the Newtown Square, PA, agency. There was no incumbent for this new real estate manager based in Cherry Hill, NJ.
"They're looking for us to create an identity to reach their market with a message that they're going to be providing a set of services to suite owners and people that are interested in suites for particular events," said Steve O'Driscoll, vice president of Mattis.
Principals from ticket broker Worldwide Tickets Inc. began Event Suites, targeting corporate and individual suite owners to sublease unused suites for sports events, concerts and other entertainment venues. This lets suite owners make money by renting out unused site inventory.
Mattis will run a market analysis, craft a marketing plan for this year and design and produce corporate collateral material. The agency chose the name and is creating a logo. Media vehicles being considered are direct mail, e-mail and telemarketing, both through live operator and automatic.
Direct marketing material will target three audiences. First, corporations or individuals that have long-term suite leases will be contacted. Next, Event Suites will reach out to companies and prospects that may wish to lease such venues. Finally, it will focus on the sports teams or operators of suites with idle inventory.
Founded 20 years ago, Mattis has clients like Sallie Mae and E*Trade Financial. But none of these clients poses the challenge Event Suites does.
"This is a service that really doesn't exist," O'Driscoll said. "There are one or two companies that are doing it on a small scale. Because of the number of stadiums and suites being built, there hasn't been a need for it.
"The challenge has been to identify what the benefits are" to the three audiences. "And we have to educate them as to how this process works and how the service is delivered."
